Flexible OLED Display for New Touch UI

Touching bumps

I designed a new sensory touch GUI for operating a three-dimensional screen by sharply curving an OLED display. Raising a part of the display and showing the operation panel enables users to see the operation panel and touch it in a three-dimensional way. Users can thereby recognize the operation panel at a glance, preventing incorrect operation. Moreover, users can enjoy blind touch operations without staring at the display, which achieves more-intuitive operation.

In order to realize these user experiences in conjunction with beautiful images, I developed this proprietary flexible OLED display and touch panel in collaboration with other engineers, so that the display and input would be stable even with a sharp curve, in addition to the optimized detection algorithm in accordance with the bumps.

As for my hobbies, on the weekends, I gather with people from other companies in a group called “Yurutsuku,” and we make things like flashing eyeglasses and fighting giraffe toys. This activity utilizes concepts and imagination that I usually don’t use. We make things that we think are interesting, and this expands my design viewpoint, which is useful for my work as well.
